Jay Thomas is a Vancouver born and raised professional vocalist and saxophonist, and is well on his way to becoming known as one of Vancouver’s most powerful Soul singers.

His breadth of study has helped him develop his unmistakable approach to singing a wide variety of music, and is just as comfortable and exciting belting good ole’ Southern Grit in smoky bars as he is serenading clubs with New-School Neo Soul. Jay is no stranger to the city’s live music venues, and has been working the scene since he was sixteen.

From humble beginnings as a hired gun in dive bars, to directing full-size funk bands in front of several hundred, Jay is taking 2017 to get back to his musical roots and is striking out as a solo act. Jay is currently in the final pre-studio stages of recording his debut EP, a gospel-inspired soul extravaganza with hints of hay-day Detroit and New York in the 90’s, and a lot more than a little dose of big brass horn section and Rhodes Organ. Look for the EP and Vancouver’s hot new sound to drop in the summer of 2017.
